Compound semiconductor materials, sometimes referred to as III-V materials, are the building blocks of LEDs. These materials are composed of elements from groups III and V of the periodic table. Gallium arsenide (GaAs) and gallium phosphide (GaP) are two examples of III-V materials that are frequently utilized to create LEDs.
